Marketing Graduate Kickstarts Career With Walsall FC Community Programme

Walsall FC Community Programme continues to provide a host of opportunities for young people hoping to gain real-world experience in the workplace. The transition from education to employment has challenges in itself & those difficulties only multiplied during the pandemic of 2020.

Business & Marketing graduate from De Montford University, Jordan Franklin, saw few  opportunities upon finishing his course – despite performing well & leaving with all the necessary qualifications to secure a paid role. The only thing holding him back was  experience in the field.

This is where the Marketing Officer Kickstart role at Walsall FC Community Programme helped Jordan secure his first paid job following graduation.

“It’s been great to finally put all the skills I learned at university into practice in a work environment.” Jordan said.

“I’m really excited to be in a good role with a reputable organisation. To be able to put that on my CV will be really beneficial because I’ll be able to apply with more confidence and experience under my belt.”

Walsall FC Community Programme Director Adam Davy added: “It’s a real boost for Walsall Football Club to be part of the Kickstart scheme. It complements our Community Programme which harnesses the power of sport and football to impact positive social change.”
