The Joy of Moving Futsal Cups are exciting national schools competition run for two ages groups – Under 13’s and Under 15’s
Futsal, the world’s fastest growing indoor sport, showcases close ball skills, increased touches, quick decision making, creativity and tactical nous. Some of the world’s leading football stars, such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, honed their ball skills with futsal. The free flowing game has witnessed significant growth throughout England and Wales over recent years, as a sport in its own right, and as a fundamental part of football development.
The Joy of Moving Futsal Cups have three stages:
Local competitions are organised across the country by EFL Clubs throughout England and Wales involving thousands secondary school students battling it. The winners represent their local club, wearing official club kit in the regional finals.
Six regional finals take place at venues across the country with the winners of the boys and girls tournament qualifying for the grand finals.
The top team from both the girls and boys competitions meet at the Grand Final’s which takes place at the Derby Arena
The aim of the project is to increase levels of physical activity among young generations around the world. The Joy of Moving Futsal Cup builds on the success of the Move and Learn project which so far got over 80,000 children active and helped them learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.
