Confidence booster for Olly through the Kickstart Scheme

Olly Burdett, from Hull, has gone gone from strength to strength as Tigers Trust new Communications & Social Media Assistant

In a similar position to those who finished their degree during the height of the global pandemic, Teeside University Sports Journalism student Olly Burdett struggled for job prospects upon graduation which knocked his confidence.

“My confidence was as low as it had ever been and I was starting to consider job options away from what I had studied at university,” Olly explained.

“The Kickstart role at Tigers Trust came exactly at the right time for me.”

Olly joined the Tigers Trust as a Communications & Social Media Assistant in March, making an instant impact through his skillset & cooperation with his colleagues. So much so, that he was announced as the Tigers Trust “Star of The Month” for April.

“Three months on and I couldn’t be any happier, it’s a fantastic organisation to work for and I’m so proud to be a part of it.”

Olly has been expanding his skillset with access to a number of different training courses, as well as being present on calls with members from other club charities and foundations.

Head of Programmes at Tigers Trust, Richard Dexter has been impressed with Olly since joining:

“Olly has made a fantastic start. He has spent much of his time working alongside our Marketing and Communications Executive to ensure all Tigers Trust activities are reflected through our media channels.”

“He has used his experience and skills to put together numerous first class videos and case studies which highlight the difference we are able to make to our community.”

Olly was highly complimentary of the friendly atmosphere at the Trust also further emphasising how the Kickstart Scheme has benefited him.

“The Kickstart Scheme has been perfect for me and due to the opportunities I’ve managed to access, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone currently out of work.”
