Accrington Stanley Community Trust Provides Madeline With New Start

As a result of the global pandemic, difficult circumstances surrounding employment and the workplace led to people exploring job options outside of their comfort zone or usual field.

This was the case for Madeline Gardiner, who previously had experience working in a primary school and a digital marketing apprenticeship.

When the opportunity to become an Administration Assistant at Accrington Stanley Community Trust came along, Madeline made the decision to expand her horizons:

“When I saw the advertisement for a Kickstart Administration Assistant at Accrington Stanley Community Trust, I had only heard good things about the Trust and I wanted to expand my experience in a different job role as I still didn’t know what career path I wanted to go down.”

Accrington Stanley Community Trust had to modify their programmes as a result of the pandemic. In partnership with the EFL Trust, ASCT were delighted to have the opportunity to provide 12 young adults with employment via the Kickstart Scheme.

“This role has benefited me so much, as I now have admin experience. I have been able to use my digital marketing skills and gain more experience of working with children by helping out with the holiday courses we run over the school holidays. The Kickstart scheme has helped me so much it has made me realise admin is an area that I am interested in and could be a potential career to go into.”

Even through such an uncertain time, Madeline heaped praise onto her employer and explained:

“Working at Accrington Stanley Community Trust has been the best…and they really take care of their employees and Kickstarters. They have given me so much experience and really helped and cared about my future by giving me as much experience as possible.

“I will take with me everything I have learnt and I will remember how the Kickstart programme helped me through the toughest time and got me back into work.”
