Shrews Fan Jack Joins Shrewsbury in The Community as Media Assistant

Upon graduating from university, Jack Otter was concerned about his job prospects during the pandemic, and the challenges that restrictions have posed on the employment market.

“I encountered barriers in finding a position or role that would fulfil the goals I had post-leaving university to progress my skills.”

Jack explained.

“I was on the lookout for the opportunity for my own vision and ideas to be explored; the freedom to create and not be tied down to a formula.”

Jack was extremely proactive during his time at University of Salford. Whilst studying for his degree in TV and Radio, he was a social media assistant and designer for a local radio show, whilst assisting with his university’s Breakfast Show, which was nominated for an internal award.

Demonstrating his ambition and clear willingness to work, Jack discovered a Kickstart vacancy within his boyhood club Shrewsbury Town, as a Media Assistant for Shrewsbury Town in The Community.

“The Kickstart Scheme was extremely simple to become a part of, with immediate, useful support to make sure you are going to be able to get the most out of your experience. I am Shrewsbury through and through and I’m really looking forward to this new role.”
