EFL Trust’s Training Ground Employability Programmes
The EFL Trust offers three programmes to those seeking employment or further training: 16-24 Traineeships, ‘Match Fit’, and ‘Changing Room’. All of these programmes offer small groups the chance to undertake substantial work experience in a range of employment contexts, to develop employability skills, and to develop their functional skills such as Maths, English.
Drawing on the power of football and the power of the club badge, EFL Trust and the network of EFL Club Community Organisations (CCOs) reach out to a broad spectrum of the community, including disadvantaged and disengaged individuals, and those with physical and mental challenges, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
EFL Trust, in partnership with the University of South Wales, offers a route into a career in community coaching and management with Foundation Degrees in Community Football Coaching and Development, and in Sport, and a ‘top-up’ BSc (Hons) Football Coaching, Development and Administration degree in Sport & Management with a higher degree offer in place from 2020/21 . These unique blended learning programmes offer students the chance to ‘learn and earn’ with students based across the country in our network of Football Club Community Organisations linked to EFL Clubs. In the current academic year, 2019/20, more than 400 students are on programme.
